I'm going with choice #3.I love both NA dubbed and Japanese Nephrite for different reasons.

I have finally watched all the episodes featuring Nephrite in the Japanese episodes, and I must say that the NA dub didn't alter him much,in terms of personality. Here are the main differences I see: 1.In the NA dub,his arrogance is toned down a tad,and he seems a bit more vulnerable. 2.In the NA dub,his voice is gruff and growly. 3.In the NA dub,he was nicer about Naru being in love with him.(which is a MAJOR plus for me).

US dub all the way! He-like all the other charries-seemed to have no personalities in the original, but the US dub gave them different personalities and made the characters much more interesting.

I agree 100% The US actors seemed to have made the characters come alive while reading their scripts instead of just saying the lines. A good character, the actor needs to become the character in order for the character to work. When I watch the dub version, I can see the emotions through the voice.
