I've actually eaten a live locust... and it didn't gross me out in the least. I'd like to try some real locust recipies though, and maybe dip the locusts in honey. John the Baptist ate locusts and wild honey while he lived in the desert, and I would like to try that. I am not disgusted by the thought of eating bugs, which is weird for someone in my area. My only problem with the locust, in fact, was that it didn't really have much taste. They are supposed to be full of nutrients though, which is cool!
In fact, I might edit Kunzite's food preferences to include falafel, pita bread, tahini sauce, honey, and locusts. And the 'gross food' he eats would be not only durians, but also fried locusts and falafel with lettuce, tomato and tahini sauce on pita(but olive oil and other mediterranian recipe sauces will do just fine).

Yeah, The 'really disgusting' part can be a bit subjective...

Yeah, The 'really disgusting' part can be a bit subjective... Yup, it can be! Besides, in many other countries, there are lots of people who think peanut butter is gross, but they enjoy drinks like aged mare's milk(their equivilent of coffee). It was funny because the first time I asked how to prepare locusts for eating on answers.yahoo.com I got comments like "YOU NEED HELP!" but the second time, I got a couple good recipes. Might try the chocolate chirpie chip cookies sometime - chocolate chip cookies with dry-roast crickets in them ^^

locusts meant here are bugs you know this doesn't necessary mean the locust bug! the bugs are unrealiable and would not provide a entire years food source and the energy spent gathering them would exceed the energy got from them, it is said it more likely means the fruit of the locust tree...

Does the locust tree live in the desert?
