The 7/8 time signiture intrigues me because it's so different from the 4-to-floor beat and the 3/4 of some of the softer heavy metal or ballad types. Seven is a number associated with luck and is considered holy not only in Christianity, but also in the religion of my Cherokee ancestors.
I'm mostly European by blood but I also have some Cherokee ancestry, and they believed in seven directions - north, south, east, west, up, down, and center. These seven directions are actually a form of coordinates used in measuring cubic dimensions, with the center being zero, and the other directions being the x,y, and z coordinates. It's very weird to contemplate the mathematics of this.
Two 7/8 songs I like are "Jocko Homo" by DEVO and "Yellow Snow" by Frank Zappa.
