It sucks like hell to have something you've longed for ripped away from you when you've been waiting and waiting forever for it.
Betcha you guys know what I'm talking about. McCain conceded, and I have the misfortune of being a conservative republican with PMS on Election Night.

You must look at it this way,Dacapo: McCain did give good speeches, and he did give it his best shot. I know you're disappointed, but I'm sure Obama will do a good job. If McCain had won,I would say that Obama had given it his best shot. *Hugs you* I can tell you that your disappointment will soon go away, and you'll be your cheerful self again.

I hope so... and I hope all those apocalyptic predictions I'd heard of from friends are just BS. This has just been very depressing and discouraging for me, and I hope my coworkers don't teabag me about it.

I can understand your disappointment. I had a member last night on my forums that was depressed and moody because McCain lost the election. But you have to look at it on the flip side too. Had Obama lost a lot of Democrats would've been upset but more or less thought Bush cheated McCain in there. So either way, it's a lose lose situation.
*hugs* But I hope you do feel better it'll just take some time. Though I wouldn't let your coworkers nag at you. Don't let them do that. It's okay to cheer and all but no need to rub in the fact that McCain lost. Geez, I mean I'm just glad the election is finally over.
It's best to look at the fact that history has been made for the first time in our country. Or at least that's how I look at it. In truth I may be a Democrat myself but I actually believed that McCain was gonna win. Most agreed with me last night when I said that.
So try not to be so down okay? It was a good race and both canidates did well. ^^

It was a good race and both canidates did well. ^^ The thing is though... if McCain had won, the people who liked Obama would have Canada to move to, like they threatened to. I have no such luxury. No 'Canada' to move to if taxes and stuff like that get bad. No place where I can vent about it in public without a bazillion people laughing and rubbing my face in it. Hating Bush and other conservatives is ok and acceptable anywhere, but doing the opposite isn't, and anyone who is doing that is labeled a backwards idiot. A 'Princess Clara' who is sheltered and lived her entire life in a gilded cage. I wish, with all my heart, that it would be equally ok for Republicans to express their displeasure without a bunch of people ganging up on them like army ants on a lame cow. It just feels to me, like even though I was taught all these beliefs are right, that I'm wrong. Someone else, without delay, says something to counter my statement, and I have no leg to stand on afterward. Does that mean that I'm wrong?

A conservative freind of mine once said " There are good and bad Republicans/conservatives,and there are good and bad Democrats/liberals." The freind's name? Sanjouin Dacapo. I feel as if you're making the same bad mistake I made: Judging an entire party by a few bad apples.
Try going to several different places and talking about this. I'm sure you'll find several people(they may even be Democrats or Liberals) who will sympathize with you. I'm sure you;ll even find a few Democratic co workers who will sympathize with you and treat you fairly.

You are right. I've just been rather out of sorts and feeling down. The thing is, I've seen this phenomenon happen on other websites, with people making fun of the conservative, and the conservative not being able to say anything to defend his views. And really, I wish people would for the most part live and let live when it comes to beliefs.

Those are just websites;I've seen sites that make fun of liberals as well. The thing is,when both conservatives and liberals see these sites, many of them shrug their shoulders and go about their businesses. It's all a freedom of speech, and in most cases, conservatives(and liberals),often choose not to say anything, and let the websites make fun of them.

That's true. I wish that both sides wouldn't go accusing the other side of wanting to take away certain things they want or enjoy, because that often is not their motivation. I'm pro-life, for example, and against abortion, but that doesn't mean I want to let a woman die from a tubal pregnancy, because tubal pregnancies are such that the baby cannot be saved.
